Ghanaian disc jockey cum artiste, DJ Azonto, is demanding $10 million as compensation from Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

He thinks his copyright has been infringed upon after his ‘Fa No Fom’ song was used as a campaign event of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer without authorization from him.

In a statement released on May 16, 2024, Rolls Royce Family, the management of DJ Azonto complained about the incident.

They asserted that the unauthorized use of the artiste’s property for campaign purposes is unacceptable and a clear infringement of intellectual property rights.

The management bemoaned that the action disregards the creative rights body and also, efforts of DJ Azonto and the Rolls Royce Family management.

The management of DJ Azonto also called on the campaign team of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to address the issue immediately and take steps to prevent such oversights in the future.
