Ghana and Nigeria now eligible for Facebook monetization in 2024 list of eligible countries for in-stream ads

Social media giant, Facebook has updated its list of eligible countries for monetization on the platform.

A few years ago, Meta, the parent company of Facebook introduced in-stream ads. Users who meet eligibility requirements are able to earn money from videos shared on Facebook.

They started with selected territories—not all countries were able to use the Facebook monetization tools.

However, Facebook decided to extend its monetization tools to many countries in 2024.

Starting from June 1, 2024, users living in Ghana, Nigeria and other countries began seeing signs of eligibility. Page owners saw that one of the requirements has ticked to “Residing in an eligible country” when they checked via the monetization tab.

This brought joy and smiles to the faces of these people. Many Ghanaian social media users jubilated about the development.

Following this, some people were sceptical because Facebook had not updated its list of eligible country as at that time.

Barely 24 hours after the jubilations, Facebook did justice to its list and updated it.

African countries, Ghana and Nigeria were among the new list of countries eligible to use Facebook’s in-stream ads.

The update brought another excitement to content creators and social media users in these countries.

What is Facebook in-stream ads?
