Veteran Ghanaian musician, Rex Owusu Marfo, widely known as Rex Omar, has raised a concern about how the creative economy in the country is handled.

In a post on social media, Rex, who is the Board Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), said Ghana will always be lagging behind until attention is paid to the creative economy.

His statement was on the back of the recently held Britain’s Got Talent 2024.

Some Ghanaian critics bemoaned Afronita and Abigail Dromo deserved more than 3rd position in the competition.

They averred the Ghanaian dancers did not emerge as winners of Britain’s Got Talent 2024 because of their background.

Reacting to this, Rex Omar asked them to create Ghana’s Got Talent if they like.

He stated that critics should know and understand that the show is called Britain’s Got Talent.

Rex Omar reiterated that the platform was created to unearth and promote British talents to the globe and not Ghanaian talents.
