Ghanaian artiste, King Promise, known in private life as Gregory Bortey Newman, is eying the Artiste of the Year at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
He stated in an interview on Accra-based Hitz FM that he deserves to win the Artiste of the Year at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
The ‘Terminator’ composer said he would be surprised if he is not announced as the winner of Artiste of the Year.
He believes he worked tremendously well in the year under review.
The 28-year-old singer is motivated by how a lot of people are rooting for him to win.
“100%, won’t you be surprised? We’ve done one hell of a job. I’m not saying…we both don’t know who will win it. I believe I’m winning it. I believe I deserve to win it.
“…these days I just spit facts. Really I’m not one to blow my own horn or say stuff. I feel like this is the one everyone has spoken about the most in a very long time because you could tell like what we have done with our past releases over the past year and the work we’ve put in just representing the motherland to the rest of the world and being a worthy face of Ghanaian music,” he stated.
The Artiste of the Year category is being contested by King Promise, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene, Nacee and Black Sherif.
The 25th TGMA is scheduled to take place on June 1, 2024, at the Grand Arena of the National Theatre in Accra, Ghana.
