Ghanaian actor, Alexander Kofi Adu, well-known as Agya Koo, has complained about the rate at which s£x scenes and insults are on the rise in Ghanaian movies.
The popular Kumawood actor spoke against this in an interview on Joy FM.
If something is not done about it, he feared it would influence the youth negatively.
Agya Koo recalled Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, some time ago raised a concern about this same issue to him.
The comic actor said some stakeholders even mocked him when he spoke about this in the past.
“I’ve always said this, I have been campaigning about this. I was even called by the Otumfuo, who also raised a similar issue: the s£x scenes in the movies are too much, and they are very dangerous to society.
“Even when I raised the issue with some stakeholders, I was laughed at. I’ve spoken up multiple times about it,” he said.
Agya Koo further advised filmmakers in the country to learn from Bollywood movie producers who avoid such scenes.
“If you look at the Bollywood movies, when it comes to intimate scenes, they skip them. You can see that they know what they’re doing.
“…when we show movies featuring insults and s£x scenes, what are we trying to show? We need to be circumspect in the kind of content we show to our children,” the famous Ghanaian actor stated.
