Ghanaian actor and artiste, Frank Naro has defended President Akufo-Addo over power outages (Dumsor) in Ghana.
He argued that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) should be blamed for the erratic power supply.
“The frequent power outages are detrimental, and the leadership at ECG needs to intensify their efforts because the government isn’t to blame; the responsibility lies with ECG.
“They have been commendable in their efforts thus far, but they need to go the extra mile because our reliance on electricity is so high that its absence is causing significant damage,” Frank Naro was reported to have said in an interview with Property FM in Cape Coast.
He further stated that aside from economic hardships, Dumsor has worsened the plights of many Ghanaians.
“Consider someone who, despite the economic challenges, manages to purchase prepaid electricity to conduct their business, only to find there’s no power to earn and cover their expenses.
“We implore them to take further action to ensure we have a consistent power supply across the nation,” Naro added.
Recently, a lot of Ghanaians have been complaining about unstable electric power in some parts of the country.
