2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Jordan Ayew scores a hat-trick to secure a win for the Black Stars of Ghana against Central African Republic

The Black Stars of Ghana made another comeback in a 2026 World Cup qualifier match against the Central African Republic.

Ghana took an early lead in the 6th minute when Jordan Ayew successfully converted a penalty kick.

After 11 minutes of play, Louis Mafouta cancelled Ghana’s lead.

Mafouta scored again in the 41st minute to put Central African Republic ahead.

The first half of the match ended 1-2 in favour of the visitors.

Jordan Ayew drew levels for Ghana in the second half after 60 minutes of play.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku found the net in the 62nd minute to make it 3-2.

Jordan Ayew got his hat-trick in this match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi after scoring again in the 69th minute, making the score line 4-2.

Central African Republic did not give up as the mounted pressure. Louis Mafouta also scored a hat-trick through a powerful free-kick strike in the 90th minute.

At the end of the game, Ghana won 4-3. This was after they fought back to defeat Mali 1-2 at Bamako on June 6, 2024.

After four matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Ghana has secured 9 points in Group I and at the first position ahead of other group matches involving Madagascar, Comoros, Mali and Chad.
